Smith has spent over 20 years of experience working with in the United States Congress and is a well respected and influential figure in the public sphere. Other notable roles Smith has fulfilled include serving as a senior advisor to the chairman of the House of Republican Conference from 2009 to 2013, and chief-of-staff to Indiana Congressman Dan Burton from 1983 to 1989.
