
Ms. Hafsa Sasya

Ms. Sasya is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and Courts subordinate thereto. She currently serves as the Deputy Treasurer and Women Lawyers Representative in the Governing Council of the East Africa Law Society (EALS). At EALS, Ms. Sasya, together with Women Lawyers Committee, hosts a monthly forum that brings to-gether women lawyers across countries in East Africa and Africa in general for mentoring and coaching, networking, discussing, and navigating through challenges that are facing women in the legal profession, gender equality, equity, and gender norms and leadership roles in the legal profession.
Ms. Sasya is currently a Partner at Aloys and Associates, a law firm based in Dar es salaam, Tanzania, and her core practice areas are corporate governance, local content compliance, legal advisory ser-vices, regulatory affairs, compliance management, land and prop-erty conveyancing transactions, competition law, regulatory laws, and civil litigation.
Prior to joining Aloys and Associates, Ms. Sasya worked with various corporations to gain invaluable knowledge in various spheres of law and related matters.
Ms. Sasya is also an active and dedicated member of the Tanzania Women Lawyers Association (TAWLA), an association of women lawyers dedicated to addressing and advocating for changes in the justice system, legal profession, and society, in general, to enable and celebrate the full participation of women in leadership in Tanzania.
Ms. Sasya is currently serving as a Zonal Executive Committee Member representing Female Lawyers of Bagamoyo zone (Dar es salaam) at Tanganyika Law Society (TLS), where she is responsible for carrying out the Society’s mission through service to members and the public—enhancing the practice of law by serving as the voice of Tanganyika Law Society Members, promoting access to the justice system and fairness in its administration, and advising theme Society on various members’ issues.
